THE COMPANY
 
Ora Banda Mining (ASX: OBM) is a uniquely positioned gold exploration and development company as 100% owner of the Davyhurst Gold Project in the highly productive Eastern Goldfields region of Western Australia.
 
After completing over 50,000 metres of drilling, Ora Banda Mining has more than 23.7 million tonnes of surface and underground resources at an average grade of 2.8 grams per tonne.  
In preparation for first gold which is planned for early 2021, the refurbishment of the processing plant has commenced and commissioning is scheduled for the last quarter of 2020.  The processing plant will process ore from both open pit and underground mines.
Davyhurst is located 120 km north-west of Kalgoorlie. The region is host to multiple gold deposits with OBM currently carrying a total resource exceeding 2.1M oz at an average grade of 2.8 g/t Au. 
 
THE ROLE
 
In preparation for the start up of the Davyhurst Gold Project, applications are sought from experienced Processing Shift Supervisors to join the processing team at Ora Banda.
 
Reporting to Processing Superintendent, the Processing Shift Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day / hands on supervision of the process plant operations.
 
The responsibilities of this role will include: 
  • Ensure that all activities are carried out to the highest standard of safety in accordance with Company policies and workplace safety and environmental regulations.
  • Shift supervision of processing personnel and operational areas including the gold room.
  • Conduct effective shift planning and hand over meetings.
  • Monitor training and verification of competency of process operators.
  • Monitor ROM blends, ore stockpiles, and water and reagent consumption.
  • Daily operation of the TSF and water management.
  • Ensure that all operations personnel understand and adhere to isolation and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that housekeeping and environmental standards are maintained.
  • Monitor and maintain operational record and log sheet systems to ensure that process plant information is available for tracking and monitoring performance.
  • Coordinate with maintenance to ensure that weekly schedules are completed.
  • Contribute to the planning of shutdowns.
  • Monitor equipment performance and report deficiencies via Company systems and procedures.
  • Compliance with stores and procurement system to ensure cost efficient purchasing and adequate inventory levels are maintained.
  • Conduct safety and workplace inspections, including hazard identification, incident reporting and investigation.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry and record keeping.
 
ABOUT YOU
 
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
  • Recent experience as a process shift supervisor for an operating gold processing plant.
  • Be an experienced / competent process operator on all stages of gold processing including processing controls and gold room operations.
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • An approach which supports team building and the effective sharing of knowledge
  • Driver’s license (C Class, manual car)
Our ideal candidates for these roles will also have the following experience and certificates;
  • Certificate IV – Training & Assessment
  • Certificate IV – Leadership and Management (Frontline Management)
  • Process Plant start-up and commissioning experience
  • HRWL – Forklift
  • HRWL – EWP
  • Certificate – Integrated Tool Carrier Loader
  • Certificate – Skid Steer Loader
  • Certificate – Confined Space Entry and Gas testing
  • Certificate - Work at Height
ELIGIBILITY:
  • Candidates must be domiciled and eligible to work in Australia (without requiring sponsorship) to be considered for employment by Ora Banda Mining.
  • Due to the current travel restrictions into Western Australia, interstate candidates should identify their availability to relocate to Western Australia to undertake this role until these restrictions are lifted.
