THE COMPANY
 
The Davyhurst project is located 120km north west of Kalgoorlie in the Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia. The project area holds significant regional exploration potential in a “District Scale” land holding comprised of over 200 tenements covering an area of 1,350km2 which contains more than 200 strike kilometers of highly prospective greenstone belt.
  
In June 2020 OBM delivered Definitive Feasibility Study (DFS) that confirms Davyhurst as a financially robust development project. Significant DFS highlights include an initial 5.2-year mine life and average annual gold production 81kozpa,
  
The project remains well funded with first gold which was poured on 8 February 2021. Open pit and underground mining are well underway and ramp activities continuer within the centrally located 1.2Mtpa processing plant.
  
The project has a Mineral Resource of 24.3Mt @ 2.8g/t for 2.2M ounces which includes a declared Ore Reserve of 6.1Mt @ 2.4 g/t for 460,000 ounces. The Company has continued with an aggressive resource development and exploration program in recent years. These programs remain ongoing with exploration programs targeting new discoveries along with more detailed resource development work.

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Emergency Response / Safety professional who has mining experience. This role reports to the Health and Safety Superintendent and would suit someone who can work independently in providing a broad range of OHS related services, but also work as part of a team to ensure site success.
 
Primary to the success of this role will be the ability to be proactive and form effective working relationships.
 
Key responsibilities of the role will include:
 
EMERGENCY RESPONSE
  • Development and maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Emergency response preparedness, including emergency response inspections.
  • Design and facilitate ongoing maintenance training for the sites Emergency Response Team in line with business requirements.
OHS
  • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Safety Management System and supporting processes and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate record keeping and reporting of OHS related data.
  • Conduct routine workplace inspections, audits and investigations.
  • Conduct safety meetings, including the promotion of a strong safety culture and focused training outcomes.
MEDIC
  • Review and approve pre-employment medicals (for site entry)
  • Provide medical treatment, Drug and Alcohol testing, and maintain confidential medical records (for site-based personnel).
  • Maintain the medical clinic facilities, remote first aid rooms, ambulance, and equipment.
  • Liaise with external parties to co-ordinate emergency response and medical assistance.
  • Facilitate and coordinate injury management, return-to-work programs and reviews as required.
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
  • Be conversant with and have an understanding of the obligation of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act 1994 and accompanying regulations.
  • Certificate III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue (or similar) including underground competencies.
  • Diploma of Paramedical Science.
  • Either have formal OHS qualifications or significant industry experience.
  • Hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • Have worked in a similar role on an operating mine or construction environment.
  • Have a WA Class "C" manual driver's licence.
ELIGIBILITY:
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in Australia to be considered for employment by Ora Banda Mining.
  • Due to the current travel restrictions into Western Australia, interstate candidates should identify their availability to relocate to Western Australia to undertake this role until these restrictions are lifted.
