About the Tax team
Our Tax group punches well above our weight, providing tax advice that is strategic, commercial and practical to leading Australian and international clients on Australia’s most significant or complex corporate, financing and infrastructure transactions. We also advise on specific tax issues, tax-related disputes and investment fund structures.
  
About the role
We are currently looking for an experienced Indirect Tax specialist to join us in Sydney. As a pivotal member of the team you will work closely with Partner, Hanh Chau, advising Australian and foreign multinational companies in the corporate, banking, funds management, telecommunications, energy and resources and property and infrastructure sectors on a range of stamp duty and GST matters including:
  • Corporate reorganisations and M&A transactions
  • Financing transactions
  • IPO’s, floats and capital raisings
  • Mining joint ventures
  • Real estate and PPP infrastructure projects
  • Partnership acquisitions
  • Insolvency and administration asset sales.

About you
As our successful candidate you should be able to demonstrate a desire, and the capacity, to work on high profile and technically challenging transactions.  You should be an ambitious high performer, looking to work in an environment where your performance will be duly recognised and rewarded accordingly. In addition, you will have:
  • 4+ years’ experience with strong demonstrable knowledge of stamp duty and preferably GST
  • Strong drafting and advice writing skills
  • Superior analytical and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with clients
  • The ability to work autonomously and in a team environment
