The company creates and manufactures some of the highest quality food products in Australia; partly because of its investment in food science, innovation and world-leading, highly automated equipment and technology. Due to sustained growth and winning new accounts within major food retailers and the foodservice industry, the company is expanding its existing operations in Melbourne as well as building a new plant outside of Victoria.
About the role
Reporting to the General Manager Operations, you will be responsible for leading and mentoring a highly capable maintenance team in a 24/7 environment. As Engineering & Maintenance Manager you will play a key role in improving the safety, productivity and efficiency of the business whilst also effectively managing the annual maintenance budget. Furthermore, you will ensure all production and facilities run reliably and efficiently, drive continuous improvement initiatives, support new business enhancements with process engineering and execute the delivery and commissioning of new equipment. You will also be responsible for leading and mentoring a highly capable operations, projects and maintenance team in coordinating, installing and commissioning new plant & equipment into a greenfield food manufacturing facility that has just completed design and construction.
Skills and experience
You will be a trade or professionally qualified Engineering & Maintenance Manager with experience in the FMCG or food manufacturing sectors being well regarded. Possessing high energy levels, you have a track record of delivering excellent and measurable outcomes throughout your career whilst constantly mentoring and driving change, continuous improvement and safety best practice with your teams. You are well regarded for having an inclusive leadership style and you have experience managing through constant change in a fast-paced environment.
