About the Role
 
  • Lead a commercial team on a major $350M project and be responsible for fulfilling the requirements of the commercial function including optimising margin while protecting the business from commercial standpoint.
  • The provision of contract and commercial management services to ensure effective implementation across the business to manage commercial risk.
  • You will be an expert at leading all Pre-Contract commercial activities on a complex project or range of projects.
  • Liaise directly with the client and build strong collaborative relationships.
  • As a senior member of the project management team you will work closely with the Project Director and Lead Commercial Manager to provide strategic commercial direction in the management of the project goals.
 
To be successful in this role, you would require:
  • Degree Qualification in Construction / Law or building related fields or significant on the job experience with part professional qualifications
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the construction and engineering industry, with significant (2+ years) experience as a Contracts or Commercial Manager
  • Experience working on complex projects
  • Experience managing a commercial team within a project
  • Knowledge of contracting and subcontracting principles, cost control, project finance, forecasting and risk management
  • High level Client management skills
  • Contract administration process skills including change orders, payment, scheduling, ITTs, bid list formulation and close out subcontracts
