Working within a busy FMCG business, the import coordinator is a vital role.  This position will be responsible for the effective functions of all imports.

You will be required to work with the team to continually improve the overall performance of the department, meeting all international customs regulations.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Management of freight operations, ensuring compliance 
  • Arrange, handle and coordinate incoming freight
  • Liaise with customs officials to ensure timely clearance
  • Work closely with supply chain, buying team, warehouse and distribution to ensure correct processes, use of commodity codes and best practice is delivered
  • Plan deliveries to depots
  • Setting up and receiving payments
  • Check orders against invoices
  • Costings for imports
  • Manage queries from authorities and internal teams
  • Prepare customs documentation in advance of imports and exports
  • Complete periodic levy returns
Skills and qualifications:
  • Understanding of C88/E2's is essential
  • Knowledge of GSP preferences
  • Previous experience in food shipments/customs entries
  • Strong knowledge of import legislation for food products
  • Ability to analyse problems and present solutions

Initial interviews will be held virtually with final interview face to face.

This is an office based position.  Monday - Friday.
