As part of the OPEN Health Advertising team, you’ll be responsible for the following activities:

Collaborating closely with the wider team to:
  • Gain an in-depth understanding of the science and the strategy behind allocated brands and disease areas and become the ‘Brand Guardian’
  • Translate complex clinical data into engaging copy
  • Work closely with the team to provide innovative creative solutions that are on brief and on strategy
  • Ensure that your work is of the highest standard in terms of scientific rigour and accuracy
  • Write with flair for different audiences
  • Line-manage more junior members of the team
  • Deliver copy that has been fully QC’d for accuracy, grammar, spelling and punctuation
  • Deliver copy that is on time, as per the brief, fully referenced (with an accompanying reference pack) and ABPI compliant (where applicable)
  • Review the work of other members of the copy team, providing insightful feedback
  • Convincingly present your work and ideas, both internally and externally
  • Proactively take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery of assigned writing and referencing tasks and flag to team members if there are any unforeseen delays or challenges to delivery
  • Drive projects and pitches with minimal supervision
  • Present at pitches and client meetings
  • Liaise with clients (including face-to-face meetings) and develop good working relationships with clients and medical teams
  • Have a ‘voice’ and input in meetings; clearly demonstrate your strategic and brand knowledge
  • Drive organic new business with proactive suggestions for creative solutions for the brands you work on
What you’ll bring:
  • Genuine motivation to work in the pharmaceutical marketing and healthcare environment and make people’s lives healthier
  • Willingness to think innovatively and creatively, and to be adaptable/flexible
  • A proactive team member that supports and nurtures line reports
  • Familiarity with pharma, savvy with science and pharma guidelines
  • An ability to show a range of creative and digital thinking
  • A science background, e.g. a life sciences degree or masters
  • At least 4 years’ experience as a healthcare copywriter
