Encore is looking for an exceptional Care Home Manager to take ownership and lead the prestigious Fairmile Grange Care Home situated at the centre of wellbeing in the grounds of Christchurch Hospital. Fairmile Grange is an 80-bed state-of-the-art, purpose-built care home that enables our care team to deliver exceptional standards of care efficiently.  The home is located with easy access to transport links and benefits from plenty of parking.
Encore Care Homes has worked in partnership with The Royal Bournemouth & Christchurch NHS Foundation Trust (RBCH) since 2015.  Not only has Encore’s joint venture with the NHS helped to secure NHS services for the community on the Christchurch Hospital site; including a new GP Surgery, a new pharmacy and X-ray facilities; but most recently, Encore has partnered with NHS locally to assist them in the nation’s fight against COVID-19 by taking non-Covid admissions to free up hospital beds and help the NHS to focus on saving lives.

As a dementia resource for the community, and in our continued efforts to become a centre of excellence, we have partnered with Bournemouth University and are members of the clinical working group.  It is our ambition to align our dementia strategy and processes with best practice and cutting-edge research from the Ageing and Dementia Research Centre at Bournemouth University.

Your new role:
As the Care Home Manager, you will manage the delivery of a first-class, comprehensive dementia and nursing care service within our residential home at Fairmile Grange.
Summary of duties:
  • Be responsible for the overall management of all team members within the home and smooth operation of the home
  • Be the CQC Registered Manager
  • Create and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Work with the senior management team of Encore Care Homes to ensure that the culture and ethos within the home follow the vision of Encore Care Homes
  • Meet or exceed the standards required by CQC so that the home can achieve the highest ratings possible
  • Ensure that the highest standards of resident care and nursing practice are achieved throughout the home
  • Ensure that all residents have a clear and appropriate holistic care plan that is regularly updated and reviewed
  • Liaise closely with the CQC registration and inspection team on all matters to do with registration and submit notifications as required

In addition, you must have:
  • Previous experience in a similar role or Nursing Home management
  • You may also have experience in the following: Deputy Manager, Head of Care, or Care Manager
  • Valid RGN or RMN NMC Registration is highly desirable/advantageous
  • A clear understanding of CQC standards/ legislation
  • Great written and verbal skills for communication and understanding
  • Good IT skills and confidence in computer-based work
  • Previous experience of managing or having budgetary control
  • Demonstrate up to date knowledge of the Care Sector, the running of a Care Home, and the regulatory framework
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety rules relating to Care Homes
  • Approachable and supportive to individuals

Working Hours:
  • 42 hours per week including some weekends and 'on-call' duties.
