Purpose of the role
Our client is seeking a Junior Planner to manage cross-functional project plans for early phase CMC development and technology projects. Core tasks will focus on building and maintaining detailed project plans in relevant scheduling tools, tracking of key deliverables, and alignment with functional planning. The ideal candidate has technical experience in a relevant area and experience in or strong affinity for project planning.
Place in the Organization
As part of the global Research and Product development organization, the CMC Project Management team is responsible for managing plans and resources for our CMC development and technology projects. The Junior Planner will report to the Sr Project Manager CMC-NC and will collaborate closely with all departments within CMC, and with other departments e.g. Research and Non-Clinical DevelopmentThis position is in Amsterdam.
Key result areas (major duties, accountabilities, and responsibilities) 
  • Creates and maintains detailed cross-functional CMC plans for new development and technology projects or project phases based on input from Sr Project Manager and SMEs
  • Monitors project progress, tracks key deliverables and ensures alignment of cross-functional plans with departmental planning through interaction with team members from relevant (CMC) departments
  • Proactively identifies and communicates scheduling conflicts, risks and issues to the Sr Project Manager and other key stakeholders as appropriate
  • Facilitates clear and transparent communication of project timelines and progress through generation of regular status reports and participation in functional and CMC project meetings, as required
  • Supports project-based budgeting required for annual budget process or department capability/capacity initiatives and tracks resource use to facilitate accurate FTE forecasting
Qualifications & Skills
  • BSc or MSc in a life sciences-related field or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience in pharmaceutical research or development with a fundamental understanding of drug development
  • Proven experience and strong affinity for planning
  • Ability to work under pressure and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Experienced user of project management software tools, e.g. MS Project and/or Smartsheet is a plus
  • Fluency in English (written and verbal)
