12 MONTH Fixed term contract with Charity

A charitable organisation in Cardiff are looking for a HR Adviser on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a great opportunity to work as part of a wider HR team, along side 2 other HR Advisers and reports in to a successful and approachable Head of HR. The HR department, based in Cardiff provides support services to the organisation throughout Wales and they cover all aspects of HR and Learning and Development.

The key duties for this HR adviser include:

  • To provide a HR service with a focus on employee relations and wellbeing
  • Advising, coaching, mentoring and delivering HR initiatives to enable Managers to effectively manage teams 
  • Overseeing and monitoring a formal Employee Relations caseload including disciplinaries, grievances and capability cases
  • Overseeing and monitoring the wellbeing and absence management case function
  • Supporting Line Managers through the performance management processes
  • To work with Trade Union representatives and maximise partnership working with them
  • Supporting the delivery of change management processes across the business including TUPE transfers
  • Support on any HR Projects
  • Ensuring that all HR Systems are maintained
  • Producing monthly KPI data and analytical reports 
  • Supporting the team with recruitment, onboarding, internal transfers, secondments, family friendly leave and/or pay policies, flexible working requests, relief workers coordination and staff leavers
  • To work and travel across Wales
The requirements for the role are:

  • You must have previous experience in managing ER casework
  • Level 5, or equivalent,  CIPD qualification or working towards or qualified by experience is desirable
  • Experience of working in a similar role within a busy HR team
  • Experience of using HR information systems
  • Experience of influencing Managers, staff and other stakeholder
  • An understanding of current employment legislation and continuing legal developments
  • An understanding of good practice in HR policies, procedures and practices
