Our client is looking for a Multi Skilled / Equipment Engineer, ideally with a bias towards electrical engineering with mechanical understanding.

Based in Livingston, our client is a well-known and highly successful medical device business. From their manufacturing facility in Livingston, the company supply medical device products across a range of markets. The business is going through unprecedented growth in terms of demand, output and new staff.  In order to continue their development as a site, they now need to make the key hire of a proven Equipment Engineer, ideally with a bias towards electrical engineering with mechanical understanding.  This role is offered as a 12-month fixed-term contract.
The Equipment Engineer will report to the Head of Engineering. You will be working as part of a small engineering team and alongside a team of validation and process engineers. The Equipment Engineer will work closely with the Head of Engineering to deliver an effective preventative maintenance strategy for this cleanroom environment.
Our client is very interested in Multi-Skilled Engineers, Maintenance Engineers, Shift Maintenance Engineers, Equipment Engineers and Shift Equipment Engineers who have worked in biotechnology, life science, pharmaceutical, medical device, semiconductor, optoelectronic or other clean room environments. Key responsibilities will include:  
  • Machine trouble shooting and defining solutions working through to the resolution of problems.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing staff in the development coordination and implementation of technical training for Manufacturing employees.
  • Ensure all Electrical equipment is running to optimum performance.
  • Maximise availability of all electrical and mechanical equipment through continuous improvement.
  • Carry out equipment modifications and installations as required.
The relevant candidate will be time served or educated to HNC/HND calibre in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or Electrical and Electronic Engineering. You have strong bias towards electrical engineering with good calibration and mechanical appreciation, with experience of motors, mixers, moving mechanical/ electrical parts.  Able to fault find on electrical/ pneumatic systems and motor controllers/ inverters, you have sound total preventative maintenance experience from a volume production environment.
Alongside the challenge and excellent career development, the chosen candidate can expect a good base salary of £36,000, a performance related bonus, inclusion into the site wide profit bonus and pension scheme.
