A Finance Manager is sought in Durban, South Africa by a global leader in agri-business.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role is responsible for the financial health of the company through the control and monitoring of finance and operational activities.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:-
  • You will hold a CA (SA) or CIMA qualification;
  • IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) understanding and experience is required;
  • Have at least 5 years of experience within finance or similar role within a trading environment;
  • Have a good working knowledge of SAP;
  • Have an understanding of local banking, insurance,  legal and statutory requirements;
  • Matrix structure reporting;
  • Strong planning, organisational skills;
  • Attention to detail with strong Analytical Skills;
  • You should have intermediate to advance Excel Skills;
  • Good written, spoken and presentation communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels;
  • Ability to multi-task and be flexible  and should be able to manage high pressured and at times a demanding environment.
JOB DESCRIPTION

The role responsibilities will include, but not limited to:-
  • Key Responsibilities will include acting as Controller, Performance officer, Co-strategist and Treasury Management;
  • Keeping up to date with all relevant technical updates concerning all tax types and International Financial Reporting Standards;
  • Responsible for detailed review of and for providing all financial information and disclosures to consultants for drafting of annual financial statements;
  • Ensure that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements;
  • Implement operational best practices;
  • Management of annual review and audits, providing all relevant support in this regard;
  • Advise management on all finance and tax related issues;
  • Oversee the financial operations of subsidiary companies and foreign operations;
  • Responsible for maintaining relationship with key stakeholders – insurance brokers, bankers, lawyers, suppliers and customers;
  • Assist other staff on any finance topics that come up on a day to day basis;
  • Act as second in charge to the Financial Controller

REMUNERATION PACKAGE
