JOB SUMMARY 
The Project Development and Club Leader reports to the Foundations Manager in Cape Town and Africa and is responsible for setting up new clubs, managing existing clubs, fundraising and building relationships with the local community in monthly meetings.

Our client is a non-­profit organisation that assists communities in Africa. Their work involves setting up, assisting and facilitating sustainable community and conservation development projects and organisations in South Africa, Ghana, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Namibia and Kenya.

THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT
In order to be shortlisted for vacancy, the successful candidate will have the following skills and competencies, but not limited to:-

  • A minimum qualification of Grade 12 Certificate.
  • Prior experience in the industry. 
  • Perform well under pressure.
  • Have strong leadership abilities.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The role responsibilities will include in order of priority, but not limited to:-

  • 1. Project Development and Club Leader
  • Ensure start-up clubs are developed.
  • Running the Volunteering Foundations Monthly events in Stellenbosch.
  • Achieving fundraising targets.
  • Conduct weekly check-ins with club leaders.
  • Update and adapt club materials as needed.
  • Problem solve to the needs of club leaders.
  • Identify and complete training with prospective club leaders.
  • Fulfill general admin duties (including but limited to: submitting license agreements, completing and filling forms and contracts).
  • Create fundraising plans and act according to those plans to cover costs of the club.
  • Compose outward facing materials for marketing purposes.
  • Host public speaking workshops and check-ins with the clubs to ensure progress and event plan for the end of year gala event showcasing the top talks of the year.
  • Run club meetings twice a week with the local disadvantaged club.
  • 2. Arrangements and coordination of special groups.
  • Preparing tailor made packages for groups.
  • Planning, quoting and selling volunteer packages, travel packages, accommodation, transport and other travel services related to the business.
  • Handles daily correspondence. Responds to mail and makes reservations as needed.
  • Knows the type of products available as well as their location and process to book.
  • Process cancellations and modifications and promptly relays this information to relevant suppliers.
  • 3. Internships Leader:
  • Dealing with internship placement and orientation.
  • Maintaining relationships with our internship placements and organisations.
  • Developing new internship opportunities.
  • Monthly/bi-weekly meetings with interns.
  • 4. Fundraising:
  • Raising funds for the foundation CPT branch, as per specified targets.
  • Social media for the foundation.
  • First Saturday events.
  • Maintain a clear instruction on payment and rates quoted.
  • Oversee that donations are being spent correctly.
  • 5. Assistance with the volunteering foundation Cape Town branch as well as Africa.
  • Work in collaboration with colleagues across all areas.
  • Monthly Principal and teacher meetings.
  • Site inspection of projects.
  • Support schools and local foundation staff to build relationships with mentorship and monthly meetings.
  • Handle unforeseen problems and complaints.
  • Dealing with complaints and communicating effectively to the volunteering foundation managers.
  • Work in collaboration with foundation's branch in Cape Town and Africa Managers to ensure agency and community relationships are strong.
  • 6. Demonstrate ability to handle crisis and incidents:
  • Communicate promptly with relevant parties.
  • 7. Any adhoc duties as necessarily to ensure the effective operation of the foundation CPT Branch.
  • 8. Reasonable travel for projects.
  • 9. Management report to be submitted before the 6th of each month.

REMUNERATION PACKAGE
A market related salary based on the level of responsibility for this role is on offer.
