Meraki Talent are working with a technology business based in Edinburgh to appoint a permanent Financial Accounting Manager paying upto £52,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package.

This technology business has grown rapidly over the past five years as a result of M&A activity. The business now has now found its niches within the market and has substantial strength, depth and diversity.

The Role

The position of Financial Accounting Manager will report to and deputise for the Head of Finance. To be considered for this opportunity you must be a qualified Accountant with strong technical accounting experience. Strong practical knowledge of IFRS is a must and ideally the candidate will have exposure of overseeing strong transactional teams. Experience of operating within a finance function that has had to deal with M&A activity would be highly advantageous.

On Offer

The role of Financial Accounting Manager will offer a salary of upto £52,000 plus a highly competitive benefits package. The office premises are based in Edinburgh city centre.
You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:
  • Reporting to and deputising for the Head of Finance
  • Involvement in a number of highly value and business critical projects including business partnering with non-financial stakeholders
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly reporting packs for various entities within the group structure
  • Preparation of financial reporting for various entities within the group structure
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts
  • Reviewing and developing processes, procedures, controls and systems
  • Liaising with external stakeholders such as Auditors, Advisers etc.
  • Assisting with taxation and VAT returns
  • Balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations
  • Overseeing a team of Assistant Accountants, Purchase Ledgers, Sales Ledger and Credit Controllers
  • Adhoc duties
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following experience:
  • Qualified Accountant – ICAS/ICAEW/ACCA
  • Strong practical knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience of overseeing/managing transactional finance teams
  • Exposure of operating within a finance function that has dealt with M&A activity would be highly advantageous
  • ERP systems exposure and advanced user of Excel
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
