The Role

The position of International Revenue Controller is a newly created role due to further growth and expansion. The role will have responsibility for several countries, sites and entities right across the whole of Europe. This is an extremely high-profile role that will business partner with very senior stakeholders right across the globe. Its also a role that is likely to develop over the next few years with the strong possibility of taking on additional responsibility, exposure or diversifying into the corporate accounting function.

Candidate Profile

To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a qualified Accountant with a strong technical accounting experience. The backgrounds of the successful candidate could include:
  1. A Manager/Senior Manager from the Big Four looking to take their first step into industry
  1. A candidate with a strong technical accounting background in industry with experience of revenue recognition.

The role will begin as remote working with all the necessary training and equipment provided to ensure an efficient virtual on-boarding. This is an employer that is happy to discuss flexible and home working when the world opens back up from COVID19.  The offices premise are based to the West of Edinburgh with parking facilities onsite and easily accessible via public transport. Due to being based in the West of Edinburgh, its an ideal location for individuals coming from Perth, Fife, West Lothian, Falkirk, Stirling, Lanarkshire, Glasgow etc.
You will be involved in but not restricted to the following duties:
  • Responsibility for revenue for the whole of Europe which includes several sites and entities
  • Providing revenue recognition consulting for Europe regarding existing business models
  • Assisting with the due diligence of potential and completed mergers & acquisitions
  • Assisting with the integration of newly acquired companies into the group
  • Building and maintaining strategic partnerships
  • Conducting in-depth analysis of complex financial contracts to extract and interpret key data needed to support revenue recognition compliance
  • Developing documentation for technical accounting and revenue recognition
  • Providing guidance and interpretation of contracts for sales, legal, pricing etc.
  • Assisting with SOX compliance and requirements
  • Liaising and building relationships with key stakeholders both internally & externally – Auditors, Consultants etc.
  • Training and development of all areas of the business to ensure revenue is correctly and accurately accounted for
  • Adhoc duties
To be considered for this position, you must have the following experience:
  • Qualified Accountant
  • Strong technical accounting experience
  • Revenue recognition and/or contract experience
  • Excellent stakeholder and communication skills
  • Experience of US GAAP, SOX, IFRS would be advantageous
