The selected candidate will be part of a global team of Information Technology specialists responsible for the life cycle of mission critical applications including implementation, configuration and support. You need to have strong technical skills and be experienced in administering servers from operating systems such as Linux / Unix and Windows to application servers. Ideally, you would also have programming skills either in scripting or web programming.

Key Role Responsibilities:
  • Work with business stakeholders, project managers and users to define application requirements, locate viable solution alternatives, implement, test and support the selected solutions
  • Become a Subject Matter Expert
  • Administer & configure application platforms, find solutions to both business and technical problems
  • In collaboration with providers, vendors both internal and external to deliver end to end solutions that meet our technical requirements including
  • Provide tier 3 support for all applications that fall within the team’s area of responsibility
  • Provide root cause analysis and problem definition for incidents
  • Provide technical guidance in existing and new projects 
  • Conduct application testing as new deliverables are received from vendors 
  • Documentation application installation and SOPs
  • Participating in an on-call support rotation to provide technical support and work outside normal business hours as required.
  • Implement best practices in application systems and network security
  • Willing to learn new applications and technologies 
  • Drive continuous performance improvements: identify and implement process & procedures that improve the effectiveness of users 

Key Personal Capabilities:
  • At least 5+ years’ experience in a role where acted as the system administrator for Operating System in Windows or Linux/Unix
  • 3+ years’ experience configuring and maintaining application servers such as Apache, IIS, Sendmail, Exchange, CRM, etc.
  • Solid understanding of: networking protocols, TCP / IP
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with the ability to research and solve technically challenging problems in complex environments  Ability to work well under pressure 
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
  • Ability to analyze, diagnose, suggest and implement process changes
  • Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Related education/certification 

  • Experience supporting high volume, public facing web applications with an emphasis on high availability, redundancy and security 
  • Experience with any of the following: Java J2EE / J2SE or JSP, Ajax or Rest API, HTML 5, Python, PHP, perl, SQL, powershell or other scripting tools
