Aspire Cambridge are looking for a Research and Development Scientist on behalf of a prestigious client based in Suffolk

Our client is a manufacturer of infection control, contamination control and hygiene products and are expanding at a very rapid rate. It is a great time to join a fantastic company.

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be joining the Research and Development Department in a fast paced, dynamic role. Research and Development is primarily responsible for researching, planning and coordinating research and development projects and investigating new business opportunities and sales leads. The role entails liaising with other departments to schedule work to ensure deadlines are met.
  
  A Day in the Life:
  • formulation development in a busy laboratory conducting investigations into new formulations and continual improvement of current range of products
  • Coordinating the research and development of new products and ensuring materials selected are suitable for the intended application.
  • Balance a range of different research projects at one time and be flexible in response to enquiries and meetings and sudden changes in priority
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Write technical investigation plans, reports and summaries for a range of audiences, both commercial and technical.
  • Provide administrative support for the Technical Development process
  • Conduct market research within hospital disinfection, surfactants and biocides, and summarise in readable and informative technical documents
  • Confidently communicate with all levels of the business, including suppliers, customers and distributors.
  • Host meetings and presentations both in-house and externally to showcase new developments and innovations
  
  
What you’ll need:
  • Degree level science qualification (chemistry, medicinal chemistry, biochemistry, chemical engineering, natural sciences, applied science) or a minimum of 3 years industry experience.
  • Strong creative, analytic and organisational skills.
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • Experience with researching technical subjects and interpreting into informative clear documents for non-scientific readers
  • Knowledge and interest in healthcare and scientific industries
  • Proven hands on laboratory experience
Start: Immediate 
Location: Newmarket, Suffolk
Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5.30pm
Salary: £23,000-£27,000
