Aspire Cambridge are recruiting for a Assembly Technician on behalf of our client in Cambridge

A Cambridge based R&D company based in the heart of the city’s busy tech cluster, with easy access to Cambridge North station has a new opportunity for an Assembly Technician to join the team! You’ll be able to get involved in a broad range of manufacturing activities. You will have plenty of opportunity to broaden your skills and even learn some supervisory skills!

The Role:
  • Manufacturing – day to day assembly of products
  • Assist with maintaining records of stock movements
  • Product & Process Improvement
  • Logistics Support - support distribution of products to customers including preparation and process of necessary customs and distribution documentation
  • Purchasing – raise and process purchase orders
  • Ensure adequate supplies maintained to support production
  • Ensure all work is documented to necessary standards, generating, and maintaining all necessary records
  • Ensure any build issues are recorded and actions executed / documented through their lifecycle.
About You:
  • Good general education, including qualifications in Maths and English.
  • Some formal qualification in an engineering or technical discipline or relevant Apprenticeship qualification.
  • Experience in product assembly, manufacturing, and distribution/logistics
  • Experience with laboratory instruments or medical devices preferred
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail in volume manufacture of complex, precision equipment
  • IT competent (Excel and Word)
  • Experience of an ERP system (preferably Dynamics 365) within manufacturing and distribution is desirable
  • Collaboration working – team planning, technical review, problem solving
  • Current UK driving licence is desirable
  • Good communication skills, engaging with engineering, design, manufacturing, quality, bioengineering and biological teams.
  • Good interpersonal skills - team player with a “can-do” attitude
  • Flexible and reliable, with a willingness to help influence improvements
  • Aspirations to grow and develop in the role
Start: Immediate 
Location: Cambridge
Salary: £25,000
