Business Development Manager to lead all sales and client relationship activities for an international business services company
Our client is a PE backed, international, business services company based in Greater Manchester. Reporting to the UK Sales Director, the Business Development Managers role is a diverse and challenging position that will be an exciting proposition for ambitious sales professionals. The position holder must be capable of working with an international customer set whilst managing complex and elongated sales cycles that result in multi-million-pound contracts. Candidates will relish the opportunity to help this business achieve its exciting growth through the acquisition of new customer relationships. Furthermore the Business Development Manager will contribute more widely to the management and marketing of the business and other projects. The future Business Development Manager will have experience of designing and selling innovative and bespoke solutions to a wide variety of customers. Consumer sector experience (either working within or from a customer perspective) is essential, namely; FMCG, telecoms, retail, pharma or hospitality. Or another business services or distribution background. Candidates therefore could come from several sectors or markets, but it is very likely that they will possess sales experience gained from within a corporate or blue-chip company. Ideally, they will have also spent time in a more entrepreneurial environment, division or SME which will provide them with the ‘hands on approach’ needed to be successful within this fast moving organisation. The successful candidate’s ability to influence and build relationships with clients at the highest level will be assumed. The successful candidate will also possess the gravitas and adept communication skills needed to work with a wide range of colleagues. This combined with the individual’s high emotional intelligence will allow them to adapt and operate effectively in a number of different environments and situations.
