Managing Director - Contract Catering - South Midlands - Up to £95,000. 
 
About the Company 
 
Detail2Recruitment are the retained search agents in respect of this position. Our client is an award winning regional contract catering organisation that offers high quality catering and service to a growing portfolio of customers.
 
Due to retirement they are now seeking to appoint a new Managing Director to lead the Board and future direction of the organisation. The role is South Midlands based with some travel.
 
To be considered for this role you will have executive management experience leading and inspiring operational and head office teams to deliver results. You will have had ultimate accountability for operational and strategic leadership, demonstrating business growth.
You will have successfully navigated change programmes to deliver operational benefits and have significant experience in highly commercial, and price sensitive markets.
 
Due to the nature of this role and customer base, experience within contract catering or facilities management is essential. This is a unique role, working for a company that puts people and service at the heart of its proposition. 
 
Managing Director - The Rewards 
  • Salary to £95,000

Managing Director - The Requirements
  • To provide strategic leadership and operational direction to enable the business to achieve its mission to provide delicious, healthy and nutritious food to all customers.
  • Manage client and contractual relationships in a commercial manner ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and company policies.
  • Review business performance and ensure delivery of key financial targets in line with management and performance reporting.
  • Lead the delivery of the annual business plan to enable achievement of the business strategy objectives. 
Managing Director - The Responsibilities
 
Commercial
  • Develop and present the annual business plan detailing profit and loss forecast and investment requirements to the Board of Directors.
  • Regularly report progress and achievement against business targets to the Board.
  • Lead the development of financially sound bids and proposals and ensure the delivery of operationally sound contracts.
  • Identify cost drivers and evaluate unit costs to develop commercially competitive pricing structures.
  • Review costs in relation to support services to ensure best values for money is achieved.
  • Ensure waste control measures are in place.
  • Review policies, processes and procedures to remove inefficiencies and increase value for money. 
Sales & Retention 
  • Lead and drive the retention and growth strategy for existing and new business to achieve the growth targets set in the annual business plan.
  • Develop strategic client relationships and ensure that both current and future requirements are understood and that the business is in a position of meet those requirements.
  • Identify the demand in the market, undertake competitor analysis and potential customer profiling to identify areas for growth.
  • Develop new products and service offers to meet customer requirements and to maximise income generation.
  • Implement and review client and customer satisfaction surveys and action follow up.
 Operations
  • Manage the delivery of the Company operations in accordance with all statutory requirements.
  • Ensure that all legislative and Company policies and procedures enable the efficient operation of the business and provide a safe environment for all.
  • Develop and maintain advanced data management systems to demonstrate the delivery of high quality, value for money services with commercial viability.
  • Manage labour costs and continually review and challenge labour structures and ratios.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the Board of Directors and the Shareholder.
 People Leadership
  • Role model the company’s values.
  • Drive and implement strategies to develop, train, maintain and motivate a diverse workforce.
  • Ensure succession and workforce planning policies are in place and actively reviewed.
  • Ensure that the management cohort continually develop, implement and review activities that will enhance team development and loyalty.
