9 Month Contract - Outside IR35

A leading gaming provider who are currently investing £millions to create disruptive gaming products across both digital and retail require a Head of Digital Marketing to develop and implement their digital marketing strategy, and have full ownership for all customer engagement, CRM and data-led insights, whilst also supporting brand marketing and digital sales strategies.
As Head of Digital Marketing, you will define their approach to digital marketing and develop creative concepts, capabilities, and processes to drive a step-change in the acquisition and retention of existing and new players, helping to create an intelligent, data-led business which is future-proofed for years to come. Your approach must take into account and protect player interests and how to best retain and increase the existing customer base and promote the businesses core goals.
You’ll be a natural innovator with a passion for customer-centric communications, putting the right message in front of the right person in the right place at the right time.  You will also have a solid understanding of the challenges involved when championing change in highly regulated industries.
Working within a peer group at the top of their game to develop the long-term wider strategy ensuring that their ambitions are aligned with their strategic goals.  You will need to consider the complete spectrum of digital customer journeys to best support these channels.
As Head of Digital Marketing, expected outputs and high-level responsibilities include:
  • Target Operating Model for digital marketing and CRM (clearly mapped to the overall strategy and with dependencies to other workstreams)
  • Write core parts of strategy and detailed processes – including evidence for your approach
  • Input into the design of marketing and channel sales team/end state org charts
  • Digital marketing strategy, with a focus on CRM, across digital touchpoints, using relevant engaging content including
    • Digital sales, for example, web and app
    • Channel partnerships
    • Adhering to our player protection approach
    • Understanding customer needs and defining key customer journeys
    • AI and programmatic technology
  • Engaging with relevant third parties, understanding their needs and motivators, agreeing ‘heads of terms’ for key priorities
  • Use your digital expertise and knowledge to support our Head of Brand Marketing
  • Work with our CTO and Head of Data Science in building an intelligence-led business model, placing customer data at the heart of the business
We’re looking for a truly exceptional Head of Digital Marketing and we expect you’ll tick these boxes:
  • Significant experience in similar digital marketing roles and ideally with an established network of potential partners
  • Commercial expertise, with a proven track record of driving digital revenue
  • Strategic thinker and the capability to get into the detail where required
  • Appreciation of inter-dependencies with Brand Marketing, Digital & Game Products, Identity, Payment, Tech, Data Science, Consumer Behaviour, Channel Sales
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective collaborating as part of a senior team
  • Working in a fast-paced environment, often with a high level of ambiguity
  • Decision making in a time-critical environment
  • Working with regulators, consulting bodies
  • Working with third parties & suppliers
  • Robust character/gravitas (able to work with complex and demanding stakeholders)
  • Gaming or highly regulated markets experience (mandatory)
Duration and Next Steps:
  • This is an initial 6-9 month project to create the documentation and the go-to-market plan, and execution could see this contract extension to 18 months or more.
  • This is a highly sensitive project and we would require shortlisted applicants to sign an NDA to receive the job spec and further information on the role.
