9 Month Contract - Outside IR35

A leading gaming provider who are currently investing £millions to create a disruptive gaming products across both digital and retail are looking to drive digital innovation and change in a marketplace that is behind the curve, and require an ambitious and pioneering digitally focussed VP of Product expert to lead the digital product strategy – covering digital experiences and new digital games and how new customers can be acquired through their channel partnerships.
As VP of Product, you will need to understand customer journeys; define a product strategy that delivers across a variety of 3rd party environments; and support the value proposition including commercial discussions.

You’ll create the digital product strategy for a significant household brand to improve digital experiences and, working with our games experts, define our next generation game strategy.  You will ‘think outside the box’ to retain and increase the existing customer base and promote the businesses core and goals.
You’ll be a natural and proven innovator with a passion for product management and new product development whilst also having a solid understanding of the challenges involved when championing change in highly regulated industries.
Working within a peer group at the top of their game to develop the long-term wider strategy ensuring that their ambitions are aligned with their strategic goals.  You will need to consider the complete spectrum of digital customer journeys to deliver new products across new distribution channels.
As VP Product, high-level responsibilities and expected outputs include:
  • Product strategy for customer-first digital experiences (web, app, emerging tech and channel partnerships)
  • Digital and next-generation games, working with the games lead
  • Digital product approach that supports relevant key workstreams
  • Understanding customer needs and mapping out user journeys
  • Leading engagement with relevant third parties
  • Target Operating Model for digital product, clearly mapped to the overall strategy and with dependencies to other workstreams
  • Write core parts of strategy – including evidence for our chosen approach
  • Detailed customer journeys & processes in the key areas required to support the bid
  • Input into design of product (and adjacent) teams/end state org chart
We’re looking for a truly exceptional individual and we expect you’ll tick these boxes:
  • Significant experience in driving successful, proven product strategies including
    • Digital innovation / new product development
    • A “safe pair of hands” for large-scale digital products
    • Channel partnerships to drive new revenue streams
  • Strategic thinker and the capability to get into the detail where required
  • Appreciation of inter-dependencies across MarTech, Identity, Payment, Tech, Data Science, Consumer Behaviour, Channel Sales
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Effective collaborating as part of a senior team
  • Working in a fast-paced environment, often with a high level of ambiguity
  • Decision making in a time critical environment
  • Working with regulators, consulting bodies
  • Working with third parties & suppliers
  • Robust character/gravitas (able to work with complex and demanding stakeholders)
  • Gaming or highly regulated markets experience (mandatory)
Duration and Next Steps:
  • This is an initial 6-9 month project to create the documentation and the go-to-market plan, and execution could see this contract extension to 18 months or more.
