MBA are proud to partner a highly reputable and well-established manufacturing company based in Washington (North East) in their search for an experienced Senior IT Support Engineer on a permanent basis. 
As Senior IT Support Engineer you will be responsible for the management of all computer equipment, computer systems, peripherals, scanners, touchscreen devices, network infrastructure components and other solutions such as IP and Mobile phone systems plus firewalls.
You will be based on client site which will be in Washington (North East) with flexible, remote working opportunities.

Senior IT Support Engineer – Key Responsibilities
The role focuses on the installation, upgrade, ongoing support and commissioning of computer related hardware and software with an emphasis on troubleshooting and ‘thinking on your feet’. 
  • To answer the support telephone line, review on a regular basis the support mailbox and react to alerts from the remote monitoring service, logging accurately and concisely the user issues on a ticketing system.
  • To ensure all user computer related issues are dealt with in a professional, efficient manner and faults escalated to the appropriate manager, when necessary.
  • To work through the existing/outstanding support tickets with a view to resolving user issues quickly and permanently making sure tickets are not overdue.
  • To provide assistance and support to all group staff and ensure good communication with all departments.
  • Whilst the Support Engineer must work within guidelines, they need to be able to Troubleshoot and Diagnose user problems using their own initiative and technical knowledge.
  • To provide feedback to management regarding any issues encountered as well as escalating user complaints promptly to management.
  • To ensure any requests from users incurring costs, are discussed with Head of IT for approval.
  • To liaise and manage all key and important third-party relationships, including hardware and software suppliers and their support teams. Good communication is essential.
  • Must keep up to date with their technical skills and will be supported in undertaking Microsoft and other Vendor exams to promote self-learning on request.
  • Will ultimately be responsible for a Junior Support Engineer, and will ensure a succession development plan is in place and progressed.
Senior IT Support Engineer – Skills / Person

A working knowledge of Windows Server Active Directory
A working knowledge of email systems – Exchange Server
Sound knowledge of MSDOS batch files and Windows Server processing.
Will have worked on the installation and management of Office 365.
A good understanding of Microsoft Azure and Cloud Server Processes.
Database experience a significant advantage.
MS SQL Background
Will hold a minimum BTEC IT qualification or similar.
Ideally, will hold, be studying for or be willing to undertake Microsoft Accreditation in specific disciplines in support of this role.
A good knowledge and interest in SMART technology.
Experience of Power BI will be advantageous
Some background in Small Systems Database Application development will be advantageous.

Senior IT Support Engineer - Perks
  • Starting Salary – negotiable depending on knowledge and experience
  • Holidays – 25 plus Bank holidays
  • Pension – After 3 months 5% employee and 3% employer

Salary: £32,000 / £35,000
