About the Position: Our client is seeking a Service Technician that will be responsible for repairing and maintaining mechanical and electrical components of compressed air systems. These include compressors, (reciprocating and rotary screw – oil lubricated and oil free), compressed air dryers and filter systems.
 
Key Responsibilities: The responsibilities of this role include visual inspections, monitoring operations, and listening to equipment to locate causes of malfunctions or off quality performance. As well as dismantling equipment or components to gain access to problem areas, inspecting, measuring & cleaning parts to detect wear, misalignment, or other problems, removing and replacing worn or defective parts of system(s), realigning and adjusting components as required.
 
You will also be responsible for locating leaks and fixing leaks in the equipment system, changing oil and filters,  repairing valves, replacing desiccant, replacing air ends, start equipment to test operation following repair or service, monitor operation and performing performance tests such as dew points.
 
Lastly, the position requires calling on customers to promote service, courtesy calls for good will, advising and recommending service requirements for customers and helping sales in the estimating process.
 
Basic Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
 
Education/Experience: Three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from company management, clients, customers, and the general public.
 
Math: Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of algebra.
 
Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
 
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Adobe, MS Office-including Word and Excel.  Must understand technology and be able to navigate between I-Phones, Tablets, and Laptop.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb ladders, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
 
Tools: The employee provides their own basic hand tools and electrical meters. Special tools and meters are provided by the company. Basic tools include open end and box end wrenches up to 11/2” in size, adjustable wrenches, variety of needle nose, vise grips, allen wrenches, socket wrenches etc., complete set of screw drivers flat head, phillips and nut drivers, multi meter, wire strippers and crimpers, hammers & rubber mallet.
