Equipment / Fleet Accounting Manager

Our client, one of Canada’s largest service contractors, serving clients in both public & private sectors, is looking to add a Fleet Accounting Manager to their team.
 
The selected candidate would be responsible to work closely with the accounting team and operations to support all related internal stakeholders with reporting and effective financial planning.  The Fleet Accounting Manager reports to senior management including the Chief Financial Officer. Your success will be defined by your ability to:     
  • Collaborate with the finance and operations teams to prepare monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts/budgets of treasury cash flow and balance sheets.  
  • Partner with the finance team to create balance sheets and key financial metrics by segments 
  • Work closely with the senior management team to prepare budgets, variance analysis and cash flow reports 
  • Maintain positive interpersonal relationships while ensuring that recommendations are aligned with the goals of the organization 
  • Identify business risks and opportunities to ensure quarterly and annual achievement of targets 
  • Ensure that all financial recommendations are grounded and well supported by the organization 
  • Assist with the management of corporate and local process documentation 
  • Provide updates for corporate reporting on an ongoing basis 
  • Prepare and perform ongoing hoc analysis and reports based on the needs of the organization  
   Your strengths include:  
  • An accounting designation (CPA) 
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Confident in application of accounting standards and policies
  • Solid experience with major ERPs such as JDE or SAP is required
  • 5+ years years of experience in accounting of construction industry
  • Experience in asset management or equipment accounting
  • Ability to work overtime if required during month end, quarter end and year end
  • Good written and verbal presentation skills; ability to lead a meeting with internal stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written) 
  • Working well under pressure
