Position Overview:
 
This position is a key function within the Operations Engineer Team and is essential to ARPNA – Beverage BU Growth Execution.  This position will manage Tooling Program Managers and maintain oversight of all aspects of blow mold tooling projects from conception to completion with direct responsibility for productivity, timing, and budget.
 
Essential Responsibilities and Duties: 
 
  • Collaborate with business leaders and associates in Product Development, Supply Chain, Operations, Operations Engineering and Commercial Finance to develop potential manufacturing solutions to commercial opportunities through the Business Development Request process
  • Clearly and concisely communicate feasibility, capital costs, timing and risks for new product launches and supply chain tooling optimization requests
  • Lead discussions with vendors and cross functional teams to determine the technological requirements for production of innovative container designs
  • Drive tooling development initiatives to improve quality, reliability, and productivity
  • Work with plants on tooling lifecycle management and resolution to common tooling issues
  • Work with vendors and plant teams to efficiently communicate and resolve issues with tooling as they arise during a project and implement corrective actions to reduce likelihood of future incidences
  • Track vendor progress and performance. Review vendor status reports.
  • Work with vendor and procurement team to develop alternate competitive supply of critical tooling components and molds
  • Directly manage Program Managers / Tooling Engineers to support tooling projects
  • Ensure adherence to established workflow processes and seek opportunities to streamline existing processes where possible
  • Drive regular update and communication of tooling standards
  • Maintain complete and accurate Master Equipment Matrices
 
       Qualifications:
 
  • College Degree, preferably in engineering or equivalent, required
  • Minimum of 10 years project management experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience working with blow mold tooling, preferably within the PET industry
  • Experience working with tooling vendors required, preferably within the PET industry
  • Knowledge of injection machine, blow molding machine and downstream container handling is beneficial
