NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
The Consulting Senior position assists with client services related to business valuation, forensic accounting, economic damages, and other complex financial analyses.  As part of a team, this consultant will be responsible for assisting with financial modeling and reporting related to financial analysis, discounted cash flow analysis, trading and acquisition multiples, and forensic accounting to solve a client’s needs. This consultant will be responsible for assisting in the expansion of client relationships, professional development of team members, and other related firm initiatives.

JOB FUNCTIONS

Essential:
  • Oversee and perform data and document-intensive financial analysis and modeling/projections, strategic analysis, economic and statistical analysis, due diligence, valuation analysis, damage calculations and analysis, forensic accounting procedures, litigation support, industry research, and related investigative assignments.
  • Supervise and apply business valuation approaches and methods to a variety of businesses and business interests.
  • Consult on large and complex litigated disputes and provide valuable financial insight and clarity to counsel during all stages of a business dispute.
  • Works with supervisors to identify engagement scope, manage day-to-day acitivies of completing work, and assists with oversight of overall quality control of client deliverables.
  • Plans, prepares, and completes client engagements in an efficient manner and within allotted timeframes.
  • Performs effective on-the-job training for staff/intern team members and demonstrates positive leadership skills within the firm.
  • Utilizes staff/interns in an efficient and effective manner to meet productivity and realization goals.
  • Monitors workload to meet billable hour expectations and performs timely reviews of work products prior to submission to a supervisor.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities for staff and intern positions and provides prompt feedback to supervisors regarding staff performance. Completes staff evaluations after large or multiple engagements.
  • Assists in the preparation of client proposals and manages client relationships.
  • Builds and maintains trusted relationships with diverse group of clients, team members, supervisors, and subject matter experts.
  • Develop new client relationships by expanding existing relationships with clients, personal networks, and participating in civic, business, and professional organizations.
  • Maintains the required CPE for firm and licensing requirements.
  
Other Duties:
  • Provides courteous and prompt service to all internal and external parties.
  • Prioritizes and addresses requests and assignments in a professional and cooperative manner.
  • Identifies opportunities and recommends methods to improve service, work processes and financial performance (e.g., procedure optimization).
  • Assists in the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • May assist co-workers in the completion of tasks and assignments to ensure continuity of service.
  • Actively supports teamwork throughout the organization.
  • May assist in professional recruiting activities.
  • May be required to work overtime and/or weekends.
  • May be required to travel and work from different company and client locations.
  • Performs other services as requested by supervisors or leadership.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business field is required.
  • Master’s degree is preferred.
Certification:
  • One or more valuation and/or forensic credentials preferred (CPA, ABV, CFA, ASA, CFF, CFE, MAFF, CVA)
Work Experience:
  • 3+ years of direct experience delivering business valuations, transaction advisory, and/or forensic accounting services.
  • 1+ years demonstrated supervisory and work-product review experience.
  • Expert Witness Testimony experience is a plus.
Special Skills:
  • Proficient skills in critical thinking, research, writing, and communication pertaining to complex financial areas.
  • Ability to work on multiple client engagements simultaneously and effectively manage priorities.
  • Intermediate level skills using Microsoft Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Prior experience with on-line databases (Capital IQ, BVR, and Economic databases, etc.) and other research on company specific, industry, and economic analysis.
