About the Role
  
IT help desk  specialist helps end users efficiently use IT hardware and software. Most midsize and large companies have IT help desk support staff to address internal hardware and software issues and help employees with general IT questions. Additionally, hardware and software companies have their own dedicated IT help desk to help external users of their company.
 
Since technology is used in most industries, IT help desk support staff can find themselves employed within a wide variety of industries. They are also employed directly by software and hardware companies. IT help desk support staff spends most of their days at a desk behind a computer.

Duties and Responsibilities
  
Installing and updating drivers and firmware on workstations
Maintain daily performance of computer systems
Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software
Troubleshooting print management issues and settings
Creating and modifying mailboxes within Microsoft Exchange 2010/2013/2016
Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software
Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required
Knowledge of telephony principals and VOIP protocols
Knowledge of Ethernet network topologies both LAN and WAN

Knowledge in network infrastructure that includes:

Networking Hardware:
               o Routers
               o Switches
               o LAN cards
               o Wireless routers
               o Cables

Networking Software:

               o Network operations and management
               o Operating systems
               o Firewall
               o Network security applications

Other Services:

               o Internet Connection
               o IP Phone
               o Wireless protocols
               o IP addressing


Qualification and Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
With 2 years experience of relevant technical experience
Working knowledge of fundamental operations of relevant software, hardware, and other equipment
Related experience and training in troubleshooting and providing help desk support
With good English Communication skills
Has good attention to details, problem-solving, problem analysis, planning and organizing, adaptable and can work with a team or alone.
