Job Description
Title: Program Lead in Business Management and Finance, (2) Engineering, (3) Architecture and Design
Job Summary
The Program Lead will provide strategic leadership in the development and coordination of programs which contribute to the fulfillment of the University’s strategic priorities set for the Faculty. The Lead will coordinate with others in the program to develop excellence in teaching, research, scholarship and knowledge transfer/enterprise to enhance the quality of the student experience. The Lead must be adept at cross-cultural communication and managing diverse backgrounds. The Lead will work with the Dean to operate within the policies, procedures, regulations and framework of the institution.

A Ph.D. from the United States, Canada, U.K., Australia, and New Zealand, with teaching experience in the United States preferred. The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience. Successful candidates are expected to assume duties in Q1 2020. 
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop the Program Faculty as regards academic programs
  • Develop the Program Faculty as regards appropriate and cutting-edge curricula
  • As needed, teach sections of baccalaureate-level courses
  • Ensure Program Faculty are available and actively engaging with students regularly
  • In consultation with the Dean, shall make recommendations in all matters pertaining to the appointment and reappointment of Program Faculty
  • Develop strategic partnerships with key local organizations to advance their College and the University
  • Communicate effectively to stakeholders and public
  • Perform other related duties as required
  • Effectively manage personnel disputes as required
  • Ph.D.
  • Previous appointments at the Associate Professor Level or Higher
  • Prior higher education teaching experience
  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication, planning, problem solving and decision-making skills Ability to lead, manage and motivate teams
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership and management skills to lead culturally diverse personnel teams
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, employees, stakeholders and the community
  • Ability to create a culture of innovation and have an effective response to change
  • Prior work experience in the GCC is preferred
  • A Ph.D. from the United States, Canada, U.K., Australia, and New Zealand with teaching experience in the United States preferred.
Languages: English:
  • Fluency in writing and spoken English at the highest academic levels.
  • Student-focused, innovative, continual learning, application of knowledge, conflict management, culturally astute, familiarity with common classroom technologies, such as LMS and smartboard usage. 
Additional Knowledge:
  • Teaching methodologies, LMS integration, technologies applied to teaching and student mentoring.
  • Teaching experience and professional experience in the relevant specialization/area.
  • As a new university, AUBH encourages working beyond the traditional academic environment. This may include tutoring, mentoring, associating with students, and being open to new ways of teaching and leadership. Cross-cultural communication abilities are a must.
