Excelon Associates is seeking a Senior Vice President of Sales & Marketing for an opportunity in Denver, CO.

The SVP Sales and Marketing is responsible for establishing sophisticated strategies and executing them through the relevant teams. This person has a strong command of both marketing and sales at a senior level. In addition to leading sales and marketing teams, this person can also develop senior level relationships (c-suite and VP level within HR, Professional Development, Training, academic education). 
We’re looking for someone who’s analytical, easily engages c-suite executives, executes with excellence, and can iterate growth experiments at lightning speed. You also know how to scale initiatives that work. As we grow, we expect the SVP to add like-minded superior performers to your teams and help create winning strategic plans. You will own the sales funnel from demand generation to conversion optimization. You’ll use analytics to support your strategy and execution of growth, but you’ll also know when to act on a good hunch.  Representing the ‘voice of the customer’, we’re counting on you to leverage your client, competitor, and market insights into new products by working closely with your peers.  As an organization, we really value confident leaders, problem solvers, and creative thinkers that collaborate exceptionally well with colleagues.
  • Lead sales and marketing teams to achieve goals; control and optimize entire acquisition funnel, including client retention.
  • Using a consultative sales approach, execute initiatives that establish relationships and revenue to exceed goals for healthcare academic and professional development markets.
  • Leverage Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to improve processes and efficiency.
  • Develop a strategic business plan as well as sales, marketing, and business development go-to-market plans for each market segment.
  • Identify key client personas and ensure we are targeting them effectively with messaging and product.
  • Thoroughly monitor competitors, products, pricing, healthcare market dynamics, and EdTech trends in this fast-changing sector to create a differentiated position and messaging that drives multi-channel communications.
  • Attend national and regional conferences as necessary.
  • Create and maintain accurate forecasts and budgets; provide regular updates of the ongoing pipeline.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate client needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Establish openness, trust, and confidence with client executives as well as internal teams.
  • Support sales teams with prospects and clients at c-suite and senior level. 
  • BS/BA degree required; Masters preferred
  • 5-10 years of successful sales and marketing leadership experience (preferably healthcare training, and/or higher education, and/or nursing education)
  • Experience strategizing, planning, and implementing integrated marketing programs.
  • Experience in creating and executing strategic plans.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation) in multiple settings.
  • Consultative B2B sales and negotiation experience
  • A can-do attitude
