National Sales Director, Beverage Alcohol

Based in Toronto, ON, our client is looking for a dynamic individual to lead their national agency business as Sales Director.

This is a key role in the organization and provides leadership in developing and executing a strategic business plan and is accountable for delivering all financial and marketing objectives, maximizing sales revenue, securing and maintaining high profile suppliers, maintaining expenses, purchasing, warehousing and delivering EBITDA targets.

This role is ideally based in Toronto or Vancouver, but our client will consider remote candidates as well.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Achieving agreed sales revenue and EBITDA budgets; delivering gross and net sales and expense targets
  • Develop a plan to obtain listings, effective retail pricing, distribution, shelf positioning and inventory levels for existing and new products
  • Maintaining awareness of both the external and internal competitive landscape and recommend solutions regarding competitive activities and developments
  • Inventory control management
  • Lead, coach, manage and develop a team 
  • Evaluate data to ensure key business drivers are being met and exceeded
Key Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years’ experience working in a senior leadership role with an import wine agency
  • Strong wine knowledge (WSET certification an asset)
  • Trade marketing experience
  • Understanding of import wine supply chain 
  • University degree, MBA an asset
  • Proven Leadership, Teamwork and exceptional communication skills
  • Software: Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook; Cognos knowledge an asset
