VP Cannabis

Our client is a CPG company operating in the Cannabis category based in Calgary.  They are presently seeking a VP of Supply Chain who be a part of the executive leadership team reporting to the President.

This individual will be a dynamic and strategic thought leader who will successfully lead the organization’s supply chain capabilities.  The VP will be responsible for creating and implementing strategies that will shape the function into a modern and world-class operation.

Some of what you will do in this role involves:
  • Define and execute a Supply Chain strategy that delivers on established financial objectives.
  • Own the S&OP process to enable accurate and actionable business forecasting for revenue, cost, and customer service.
  • Recruit, staff and develop a high-performing and motivated strategic Supply Chain team responsible for interfacing with business and partner manufacturers.
  • Ensure our external co-manufacturers and other external partners are aligned with the cost approach and held accountable for their performance.
  • Develop and implement integrated business to business solutions with Suppliers and Outsourced Suppliers.
  • Identify and prioritize continuous improvement opportunities.
Some of the experience sets we are looking for include:
  • 7-10+ years as a Supply Chain leader.
  • Experience retooling or building new state of the art supply chain. Experience across multiple countries is an asset.
  • Has been part of the leadership team for a premium, well recognized quality brand.
  • Prior experience in a regulated manufacturing environment especially Cannabis is preferred.
  • Strong relationship management skills across an organization
  • Ability to apply best in class processes from a larger environment to a high growth environment
  • Experience evaluating and implementing technology that empowers operational efficiency and developing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operations and financial objectives.
  • Strategic, analytical and detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize tasks, manage multiple tasks and people effectively while shifting into tactical applications and executional level support as needed.
  • Cross functional operations experience is a definite asset.
