Overview of the Project Control Specialist
  
Will ensure all program/projects cost activities such as data collection, estimating, analysis and budget forecasting comply with company and client requirements. 

Duties of the Project Control Specialist
  • Responsible for contract financials, and cash flow management
  • Responsible for month-end closing functions as well as contract closeouts, including sales and financial reporting
  • Prepare monthly financial reports at risk reports by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger and department reports
  • Create waterfall charts, able to create own information system with little supervision to track business projections to include actuals, forecasting and revenue flow
  • Collect, analyze, and consolidate financial data
  • Recommend plans to the Leadership Team
  • Maintain Key Performance Indicator (KPI) spreadsheets ISO metrics and score boards, ensuring relevant fields are updated weekly
  • Update KPI schedules for upcoming period, advise Leadership Team members on development of lead and lag KPI measures appropriate for current business objectives
  • Devise data collection methods and processes to support KPIs
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems
  • Oversee the invoice process in coordination with the Program Manager and Accounting Department; includes appropriate ISO record management, ability to do quality checks on invoice details (i.e.: funding/contract compliance) and research/resolve issues Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
  • Contract details overview and data management
  • Review IPR reports for quality and meet with PMs as needed 
  
Qualifications of the Project Control Specialist
  • Bachelor’s in the accounting-related field is preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Needs to be highly organized, detail oriented and able to work independently and collaboratively in a high paced team environment
  • Ability to act in a self-confident manner to facilitate completion of a work assignment or to defend a position or idea
  • Ability to provide guidance/coaching and feedback
  • Display financial aptitude with an ability to understand and explain economic and accounting information, prepare and manage budgets, and make sound decisions
  • Ability to organize and direct a project to completion with a focus on invoicing
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet and adhere to deadlines
  • Experience with Federal Contracts and Programs
