The Opportunity
Sherwood Electromotion Inc requires a Time Study Facilitator who will be primarily responsible for suggesting new approaches to improve the organization's manufacturing techniques and technologies. The Facilitator will initiate, develop and manage new Lean initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for training staff on new initiatives and monitoring these new processes to ensure ongoing success organization wide.

Job Duties
  • Perform time studies on a daily basis to meet strict weekly and monthly requirements.
  • Suggest approaches to improve the organizations machines, products, and processes to upper management.
  • Time studies will be conducted via stop-watch method.
  • Work closely with production associates to accurately assess the safest, most efficient, and highest quality methods and standards in completing various value-added tasks.
  • Determine potential benefits of new approaches and ideas and lead training to implement their improvement strategies.
  • Prepare reports, technical reports and training manuals on new items/processes being implemented.
  • Focus on continuous improvement to eliminate short and long term waste/hazards.
  • Improve company's safety, product quality and operational costs.
  • Analyze company's production or transactional processes and identify cause of problems using problem-solving methodologies.
  • Work to create solutions to organizational problems.
  • Develop ways to drive operational growth and improve operating margins.
  • Develop strategic direction for the organization.
  • Initiate, develop & manage new Lean initiatives within the organization and operating groups.
  • Develop and execute the implementation strategy for current Lean initiatives and ensure specific objectives and results are achieved.
  • Actively participate in the development and execution of the Lean strategies via training, coaching and mentoring of managers and other staff.
  • Ensure adequate delegation and clear definition of responsibilities to each member in the development and implementation of initiatives.
  • Lead various continuous improvement events in a team setting and demonstrate successful outcomes select and utilize appropriate Lean tools.
  • Promote out-of-the-box thinking and continuously generate new ideas to improve processes, service, efficiency, inventory, cost and space.
  • Serve as a catalyst to promote Lean thinking and foster a continuous improvement culture throughout the company.
  • Lead activities to identify, capture and help sustain Lean business systems within the organization.
  • Act as a key change agent for the organization.
  • Teach and demonstrate new methods with hands-on implementation and coaching.
  • Set goals to achieve targeted improvements.
  • Monitors and executes Lean Business Systems/Kaizen roadmaps.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology is required.
  • Lean Six Sigma Mfg. experience: Green Belt level with at least 5 process improvement projects.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years years of direct working experience in industry environment.
  • Direct knowledge of lean six sigma manufacturing methodologies
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point).
  • Training and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing are considered an asset.
  • Exceptional leadership and team building skills.
  • Able to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret goals, objectives and policies.
  • Proven problem identification skills.
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
  • Able to supervise and motivate a team to achieve and, where possible, exceed their goals.
