We are looking for a strong VP of Finance/CFO for a local growing company that offers a fun and exciting atmosphere.

SUMMARY
  
Our client is a growth-oriented organization who is looking for a VP of Finance to help manage growth through effective financial reporting and analysis.  The VP of Finance will direct all financial activities of the company and ensure its long-term financial strength and viability while providing information to the senior leadership team to aid in making sound operational decisions.  The Vice President will ensure professional and ethical financial practices and a value-add, business-centric and cohesive finance service offering across the company that is aligned with business strategy, so as to ensure the functionality and sustained profitability of the Company.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES
  
  • Develop and evaluate short and long-term strategic financial objectives for the Company, in line with overall business strategy
  • Evaluate current processes, people and systems in order to build and maintain a high performing Finance department
  • Formulate and implement finance strategies, policies and procedures for the Company, effectively cascading these down to the Finance Leadership Team to ensure achievement of financial objectives
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance, Planning & Analysis department, Commercial Finance & Accounting functions of the Company, ensuring healthy financial management of the company
  • Ensure the effective management of processes for financial forecasting, budgets, consolidation and reporting to the Company
  • Ensure credibility of the finance function by providing timely and accurate analyses of budgets, financial trends and forecasts
  • Manage and minimize the company’s financial risk exposure by developing and maintaining systems of internal controls, and ensuring that the Internal Audit and Risk Management functions are operating effectively
  • Ensure compliance across the company with corporate governance requirements and applicable local and international regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting, taking action where non-compliance is identified
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/ strategies and regulatory action
  • Provide the Executive Leadership team of the company with advice on the financial implications of business activities, and provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports, and recommendations
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with Executive Leadership team of the company so as to identify their needs and seek a full range of business solutions, providing accurate and relevant advice
  • Provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities
  • Work with the General Manager to identify potential new business opportunities/sources of revenue Act as company representative and perform a governance function for the Company’s pension and retirement fund
  
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting, MBA Preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with demonstrated knowledge of appropriate financial systems and job progression within a company.
  • Demonstrated People Management and Leadership required
  • Expert level knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, investor/lender reporting (covenants), corporate credit, cash flow forecasting, financial modeling, etc.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously with poise and professionalism while delivering results.
  • Deep knowledge of ERP systems and reporting tools.
