Controller Healthcare – Miami, FL
 
Position Description:  The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual who will oversee the company's financial records and account The Controller is responsible for the day to day financial affairs of the Finance/Accounting Department.  Directs & supervises accounting, payroll & accounts payable functions. The role serves as a resource for various hospital departments for financial related questions. Serves as contact for Corporate & outside agencies (regulatory, reimbursement, consultants). The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Responsibilities:
  • Directs and oversees the operations and activities of the Accounting Department
  • Establishes and recommends to management major economic objectives and policies for the company
  • Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations
  • Direct the preparation of budgets
  • Directs the preparation and dissemination of financial statements
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions
  • Provide management with daily, weekly and monthly reports to drive business results.
  • Arrange for audits of company’s accounts
  • Manage staff performance and ensures department’s responsibilities and position goals are met
  • Evaluate and counsel employees in Accounts Payable and Payroll processes
  • Communicate with Corporate, Regional and Hospital personnel as needed
  • Conscientious about timeliness of assignments & quality of work product
 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s required, preferably Accounting
  • MBA (Master Business Administration) or Master’s degree in related field preferred
  • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in Accounting
  • 2-3 years related Healthcare experience strongly preferred
  • Recent acute care hospital experience strongly preferred
  • Experience Microsoft Office Suite
