Our client is a leading IT Operations Analytics business. They develop software and services solutions for large corporations and government entities. Their solution generates availability intelligence about the large, complex SAN storage infrastructures that helps their customers efficiently manage the SLA’s for those environments.
 
They are privately held, have no debt, and are experiencing healthy growth because they provide a solution that solves a difficult problem. The solution utilizes smart algorithms that access expert knowledge about the hardware and operating system to automatically identify and avoid performance problems before they affect availability, as well as quickly identify the root issue of constraints and configuration issues in the SAN infrastructure.        
 
Their enterprise solutions are in use world-wide by some of the largest storage hardware vendors as well as enterprise customers in North and South America as well as Europe. Headquarters are based in the Netherlands and the Americas office is located in Southlake, Texas (DFW area).

JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a highly talented, customer facing consultant with deep SAN system knowledge to provide support for our End-to-End SAN/NAS performance solutions that includes support for EMC, IBM, HPE, HDS, INFINIDAT, NetApp, VMware, Brocade, CISCO.
 
Customer and prospect environments typically include large environments with stringent SLA's and dynamic workloads.  
 
The primary activity will include demonstrating the power of our core product to help improve end-to-end SAN availability. This will be accomplished either by conducting demonstrations with anonymized customer data or by conducting a performance deep dive using our core product on a prospect’s or customer’s environment. Technical findings, recommendations and architectural considerations will be communicated to both technical and management audiences in a presentation and product demonstration format.
 
Additional activities will include:
  • Working with other consultants to improve the pre-sales processes and templates
  • Technical marketing support such as writing technical blogs, technical whitepapers and developing technical case studies
  • Working with development to enhance our solutions
  • Building general technical education and product technical education in the area of SAN systems performance
  • Providing level 2 and 3 technical support for end-users of our software which may include troubleshooting, documentation, interfacing with development.
  Experience: 
  • has several years of SAN operations or architecture experience
  • has significant experience presenting and communicating to various levels within an organization
  • has experience conducting performance analysis and is familiar with key metrics for Storage and Fabric
  • has strong analytical skills and enjoys detailed problem solving to help experts at our customer sites
  • is very good at organization, project/task management, and enjoys the challenge of diverse situations
  • has excellent communication, both written as well as verbal, demonstrating confidence and patience.
  • strong ethics and character that contributes to our positive work environment
  • military experience preferred
 
Technical experience held by the successful candidate:
  • Minimum of 4 years of hand’s on SAN management in a large and complex environment
  • Experience in a pre-sales role is highly desired although for the candidate with excellent communication and interpersonal skills this may be waived.
  • Education:                        
  • BS in Computer Science or related or equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Relevant certifications are a plus
