Our client, a transportation focused firm with global reach, is looking to add a Vice President Acquisitions, to their lean team.

Reporting to the Vice President, Acquisitions, the Director, Acquisitions works as a member of a small, fast-paced team that supports the client's investment strategy by sourcing, evaluating and executing on investments in projects and other other  ones located globally, with particular focus on the U.S. This role will become a critical member of the Acquisitions team in assessing new opportunities and participating in all aspects of the investment process – deal origination, due diligence, supporting negotiation of contracts, raising debt financing, internal and external stakeholder management. This role offers the successful candidate exposure to private/P3, buy-side, infrastructure transactions for some of the largest projects of this type in North America and other jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities
New Project Investment Opportunity Screening
• Assist the leadership team in screening investment opportunities vis-à-vis the client's strategic plan and in presenting information in support of ‘go / no-go’ decisions
• Coordinate development of presentations to the executive team, Board of Directors and Shareholders in support of new pursuits, followed by periodic updates
Consortium creation and coordination
• Assist the leadership team in identifying and evaluating consortium formation strategies on new pursuits
• In the course of project pursuits / transaction execution, lead discussions, messaging and consensus building around the financial model and investment case with counterparts at the consortium partners
• Coordinate regular consortium coordination discussions, including creating agendas and following-up on action items with relevant parties
Business and investment case assessment, diligence and reporting
• Business and investment case assessment
o Through coordination across the organization, ensure that the financial model used in analyzing the investment case for a pursuit accurately reflects the underlying deal structure and business plan assumptions of the Product Suite teams
o Lead financial analysis of the underlying investment case to identify and assess impacts of key investment value drivers / risk factors and present findings to the leadership team
o Identify and obtain accurate financial analyses relevant to the investment decision making process from Analysts and / or financial advisors and present findings to the leadership team
o Coordinate development of information materials to articulate the underlying investment case (e.g. information memorandum) and lead the presentation of financial analyses in support of the recommended investment decision to the Executive Team, Board of Directors and Shareholders
• Due diligence
o Develop and secure support (internally and with consortium partners) for an investment due diligence plan, including allocation of diligence responsibilities within Vantage and to consortium partners
o Ensure due diligence advisor scopes include required areas of focus from an investment perspective, review reports, analyze material value drivers / risk areas and present relevant findings to the leadership team
• Reporting
a. Coordinate development of presentations providing periodic updates to the Executive Team, Board of Directors and Shareholders
This role also presents an opportunity to progressively take on greater responsibilities depending on the scale and complexity of transactions. On smaller, less complex opportunities, this position can more independently lead the day to day investment process on behalf of Vantage under appropriate guidance from the Executive Team.

You possess the following experience and abilities:
• 6-8 years of experience in progressively more responsible roles in infrastructure advisory (transaction due diligence, M&A or Public-Private Partnership advisory) or infrastructure investments; experience in the airport sector an asset
• Strong quantitative skills in analyzing infrastructure financial models
• Knowledge of infrastructure investment principles and acquisition considerations
• Proven preference for working in an entrepreneurial environment
• Demonstrable flexibility, initiative, ownership, and contribution to business success
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to present multi-dimensional situations in a succinct manner
• Strong relationship management skills – able to foster and develop relationships with internal and external counterparts, including consortium partners, industry experts and advisors
• Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain a professional and collaborative relationship with all levels of the organization
