Brief Overview of Position:
Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Java Developer for support to our client in Vienna, VA. At STOPSO, we deliver innovative systems in support of the critical missions of the Intelligence Community, Department of Defense, Department of Justice, and Department of Homeland Security along with other federal agencies seeking to ensure the safety and security of our nation.
 
Description of Duties:
  • Responsible for building and maintaining web-based applications
  • Responsible for design, coding, and testing of Java based applications and the design and implementation of web-based applications
  • Accountable for new development, enhancements, and maintenance in Java/J2EE (JMS, EJB, and Servlets) and knowledge of design patterns
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, good customer relationship skills, especially in a highly dynamic environment
 
Experience:
  • Knowledge of Object Relational Mapping tools (i.e. Hibernate)
  • Knowledge of test libraries (junit, dbunit) or automation tools (Selenium)
  • Experience with Agile and Scrum Software Development methodology
  • Primary development includes (some but not all): Java, NoSQL/XQuery/JavaScript, Angular, CSS, XML, XSLT, Servlets, Spring Tiles, DOM, XMLObject, JSTL, JSP, Selenium tests
  • Experience with testing tools such as QuickTest Professional and Selenium Quality Center
  • Experience with Gradle, Ant and continuous building environments
  • Experience with web service API’s (REST, SOAP)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, quick software release environment. Self-motivated to learn and work independently in a complex, dynamic environment
  • Experience with development on/for application servers (i.e. JBoss, Oracle Application Server)
  • Ability to work with SQL and NoSQL data stores
 
Education, Clearance and Certificate Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in a related field with three (3) years’ experience OR
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with five (5) years’ experience OR
  • Associates degree with seven (7) years of related experience
  • TOP SECRET clearance with the ability to acquire and maintain SCI-level clearance and be able to pass a CI polygraph
