About Our Client
Our client handles the complete turnkey solar installation process for homes, businesses, and farms alike. They are based out of The Village Green at Annandale, a solar powered eco-village in Annandale, NJ, with its own 322 kW solar ground mount which powers their office.
 
Our client’s process is completed only by in house employees. We handle everything from the initial sales consultation and design through permitting and installation. They offer an industry leading 25-year warranty and with complimentary follow up support. They approach to each installation is customized and collaborative. Our consultants design the solar arrays themselves and develop a custom purchasing package for each job. Our customers have a say in the final layout, system components, and financing methods.
 
About the Opportunity
Are you a results-oriented and energetic leader who wants to help us lead the solar revolution in New Jersey? We are looking for an experienced Canvassing Manager who can implement a successful solar door to door program from the ground up and expand it companywide and will play a major role in overall sales and business development initiatives with a strong reputation for quality and service. With the support and guidance of marketing and sales leadership, you will create the program, build your team, and grow as you meet sales targets.
 
Job Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of door to door canvassers who will educate homeowners about solar, prequalify leads, and schedule high-quality appointments for our salespeople
  • Build a winning canvassing model that can grow regionally
  • Train and develop canvassers as a career path to team leadership or sales
  • Hire, train, motivate, coach, and hold team accountable to exceeding goals
  • Scheduling the team and arranging them across the region.
  • Administering the necessary software,
  • Providing field sales support,
  • Leading by example while selling residential solar in home.
  • Meet weekly lead generation targets by setting locations and hours to knock each week, securing permits, staffing shifts, transporting canvassers to neighborhoods, providing ongoing training and feedback to team, and creating a culture of positivity, passion, and accountability
  • Utilize technology to measure and improve performance
  • Provide regular updates to marketing and sales leadership
  • Maintain strong relationships with the sales and operations teams to coordinate canvassing activities around installations and appointments, and to obtain sales feedback on quality of appointments set 
Requirements
  • Minimum of 1 year managing a successful canvassing team in residential solar sales
  • You must be ready to go on day-one, have tireless energy, be able and willing to anticipate and solve problems, and have a passion for growing solar.
  • Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done and meet or exceed your targets while demonstrating a high degree of integrity and professionalism
  • Experience with CRM systems and excel/google sheets
  • Stellar communications and organizational skills
  • Work hours include evenings and Saturdays
  • able to walk and stand for long periods of time.
  • Safe driving record and current Drivers licensee
  • Some statewide travel will be expected after program expands into new markets
