About the Position 
Marketing, Events and Development Coordinator is a key role within our startup to execute fundraising, communication and other marketing goals. The Coordinator will report directly to Chief Development Officer (CDO) and is responsible for planning, development and implementation of Organization’s marketing materials in various formats (reports, website, newsletters, social media, brochures), internal and external events and
activities, and supporting the overall fundraising priorities of the Global Executive team. We are looking for a creative, energetic, ambitious, and entrepreneurial candidate who is adept at communicating to a wide variety of
audiences, including corporate sponsors and other stakeholders, and external PR and campaign agencies.
 
The Marketing, Events and Development Coordinator will work in the following areas:
Event Management
  • Develop a yearly calendar of events to meet the fundraising, networking and outreach objectives for the
    organization.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for events from developing materials, curating the event and
    developing marketing materials
Development of Marketing and Communication materials
  • Develop and strengthen marketing materials for our client in a unique and compelling voice to build
    brand awareness, and reputation.
  • Provide strong attention to detail so all materials and events communicate creatively and impact.
  • Provide ongoing support in developing impact reports, decks, social media collaborations, and proposals.
  • Work with staff and contractors to develop and implement Renew Ocean’s campaigns and social
    networking strategies.
  • Manage outreach to current and prospective donors and sponsors through newsletters and other
    updates. Monitor and respond to inquiries on a regular basis.
Support Fundraising and other development needs
  • Track donor activity and projected giving.
  • Develop ongoing pipeline of donors (corporate, individual and foundation).
  • Conduct research and follow leads on prospects with Chief Development Officer.
  • In medium- to long-term, oversee the development, testing, and implementation of new and creative
    fundraising ideas to attract new donors and upgrade current donors.
 
Education and Experience
  • 5 +years of work experience in communications, marketing or related filed.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations preferred. Graduate degree in a related field
    is not required, but a plus.
  • Proven track record and experience in majority of the areas of responsibility listed above.
  • Wide degree of creativity and attention to detail. Possesses exceptional written and verbal
    communication skills.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in events, social media and digital media.
  • Self-motivated, self-starter, and a team player.
  • Excellent time-management and organizational skills
